San Diego nonprofit to host awards show in honor of local luminary Malin Burnham ![]() SAN DIEGO (APRIL 4, 2017) — For nearly 90 years, Malin Burnham has represented the best of serving San Diego. To honor this legacy and his support of low-income youth, Reality Changers has created The Malin Burnham Awards to recognize those who have had the greatest impact on our region. Mr.Burnham's motto is "Community Before Self" and that is why the community vote will determine the winners of The Malin Burnham Awards to be presented at UC San Diego on May 23, 2017. All proceeds from the event will help Reality Changers raise $2 million to help build more first generation college students in San Diego. Over $1 million has already been committed by the following scholarship partners: Anonymous, The Masons of California, The Reality Changers Foundation, UCSD's Chancellor's Associates, and UCSD Extension.
