Faulconer, Sanders, other leaders urge San Diegans to vote for Cate Cate: ‘Voters have a choice between two very different candidates’
SAN DIEGO (October 30, 2014)---Mayor Kevin Faulconer, former Mayor Jerry Sanders, and other city leaders urged San Diegans to vote for Chris Cate at a news conference today at Harbor Island Park.
“Chris Cate’s knowledge, experience and commitment to good government, neighborhood services and job growth would make him an excellent asset for the residents of District 6,” said Faulconer, who hired Cate as his policy advisor when he was a council member. “I am looking forward to working with Chris again.”

SAN DIEGO - Chris Cate, a candidate for San Diego City Council District 6, is calling on his opponent Carol Kim to confirm whether she supports two voter-approved reforms: Comprehensive Pension Reform and Managed Competition. Both reforms passed overwhelming with more 60% of the vote, and each has proven effective at saving tax dollars. Four years ago, when pension reform was on the ballot, Kim didn't vote.
