Union-backed candidate Carol Kim continues to mislead voters
SAN DIEGO - Chris Cate, a candidate for San Diego City Council District 6, released his voting record today of the last 13 elections he was eligible to vote for in the County of San Diego. Cate, a native San Diegan, has a perfect record, voting in all 13 elections he’s been eligible to vote in since 2006. During Sunday’s broadcast of NBC’s Politically Speaking, union-backed candidate Carol Kim accused him of only voting in “20 percent of his eligible elections during the last two years.”
Pure Water San Diego will be environmentally and economically beneficial to the City of San Diego
SAN DIEGO - Equinox Center's Board of Directors has unanimously voted to endorse the City of San Diego’s Pure Water Project.
“The Pure Water San Diego Project will positively impact our environment, our economy and our communities,” said Ray Ellis, Equinox Center’s Board Chair. “Equinox is in complete agreement that this plan is one of the most beneficial solutions to the City’s long-term water supply needs.”
Pure Water San Diego is a 20-year plan that will create a safe and reliable water supply by recycling what is here already.
SAN DIEGO - Students, community leaders, school district and elected officials will join residents and beautiful PB this Saturday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. to unveil the inaugural “Safe Route to School” project near Pacific Beach Middle School. Over 50 students and artists will present the award-winning mural they created. The mural will serve to highlight a safe route to school through high-traffic areas.
SAN DIEGO - San Diego City Council Chris Cate released the following statement today: "We know there needs to be across-the-board salary increases within the San Diego Police Department to keep it competitive with neighboring agencies. Keeping our officers competitive with other departments is in the best interests of our Police Department, the City, and taxpayers."
Centennial Gala planned for tonight
SAN DIEGO - In celebration of the San Diego City College Centennial, the San Diego City College Foundation is sponsoring a Centennial Gala on Monday, September 8th at The Prado in Balboa Park beginning at 6:00 p.m. As City College honors its past, the City College Foundation is working to help strengthen its future. The Foundation Gala is hosted by several business and community leaders, including Honorary Co-Chairs Charlene Zettel, a member of the UC Board of Regents, former Superior Court Judge Luis Vargas, County Supervisor Ron Roberts, Phil Blair and Mel Katz, Executive Officers of Manpower San Diego, and business leader Bill Geppert. The Gala emcee will be actor Jay Jackson from TV’s “Scandal” and “Parks and Recreation.”
