San Diego County Taxpayers Association PAC: Campaign AdvertisingChallenge
The San Diego County Taxpayers Association (SDCTA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting accountable, cost-effective and efficient government and opposing unnecessary taxes and fees. During the 2016 election, SDCTA’s PAC used paid advertising to promote the association’s positions on five separate tax measures, with the goal of persuading hundreds of thousands of voters in several communities. Solution MNM developed and placed radio and Facebook ads (videos and graphics) for the PAC, using SDCTA’s in-depth analysis of the ballot measures as guidance for targeting and messaging. As a longtime client, SDCTA also utilized MNM’s media relations and community outreach services to connect with voters across San Diego County. Results The San Diego County Taxpayers Association PAC was successful. Voters agreed with the recommendations for each of the five ballot measures SDCTA invested in, thanks in part to advertisements as well as media relations and community outreach efforts MNM spearheaded. “We take our role as the region’s taxpayer watchdog seriously, so we were pleased to see how well our PAC investments performed,” said SDCTA President and CEO Haney Hong. “Much of that success is a result of the creative ads MNM developed and placed for our PAC.
